About me

Heather Perry in the jewelry studio

How can your jewelry express your life’s journey?

The most significant jewel in the history of my life was a purple ring from a gumball machine. It was opulent. Gaudy. Huge. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in all of my four years. This treasure was composed of a queenly, faceted, bright purple, plastic gem, set in a silver colored adjustable metal band; I needed it near me at all times! Its stately presence on my finger transported me to the land of magnificent princesses and mysterious forest maidens. I spent enchanted hours watching its purple brilliance cast light fairies on my bedroom wall.

As style changes throughout history, what remains constant for jewelry is our attribution of personal sentiment and symbolism to the pieces we wear most often. Rings are exchanged to honor a loving commitment, a necklace given to mark a birthday, beautiful earrings chosen to celebrate a personal victory-however it was acquired, we remember our life through our jewelry. To me, the sentiment is just as precious as the materials used to make it.

Your jewelry is the keeper of your story.

I love hearing the tales of Grammy’s diamond engagement ring recovered years after being thought forever lost or Mom’s garnet necklace she bought for herself when she got her first job. I try to honor these stories in the designs I create with heirloom gems. They are what remain long after the gems are passed to daughters and sons who will in turn add their own chapters to the story.

If I could go back in time to the beginning of my own jewelry story, it’s pretty likely my actual purple gumball ring would be far less grandiose than its beloved memory. Even so, its magical effect on my four-year-old self is the story I cherish and the muse that inspires every piece of jewelry I create!

Excellent quality & interesting design make unforgettable jewelry.

Jewelry that stands the test of time is thoughtfully designed, created with quality materials and is a source of inspiration to the one who wears it. It is important to me to source the best quality materials with a low impact to our environment; I use recycled metals, conflict-free stones, and acquire supplies and services as locally as possible.

Each time I design a piece of jewelry I am continually amazed that the finished piece looks even more beautiful, magical and special than could be imagined at the start. My education in art and design--BFA Sculpture, MFA Intermedia--combined with over 25 years of handcrafted jewelry production experience--have cultivated an intuitive sense of design in working with my clients-even if they aren’t sure what they want when they contact me!

Although long lost, my purple gumball ring is a symbol of my passion for the art, history and beauty of jewelry. A high school silversmith class sparked my love for precious metals and gemstones and my first project was (you guessed it!) a silver ring with a purple stone-but this time it was REAL!

What a joy to make my dream ring come to life! To this day, my passion remains making dreams come true, expressed in exquisite rings and jewelry, especially created for you, by you.

Your personal jewelry stories and memories inspire me. If you’re ready to share yours and design that special piece to honor it, send me a note at I can't wait to hear what you have in mind!

“As I began working with Heather, I realized that she was committed to making sure the experience was a pleasure as well as the final product. She really seemed to understand what I was looking for, and I realized that I could be explicit about my choices and she would be completely supportive. When the ring was finished and I slipped it on, it was absolutely perfect!”
